Gazetawroclawska.pl: Save hundreds of zlotys. Registration opens for almost free spaying of female dogs in Wrocław

Dog guardians in Wrocław have a chance to save a significant amount of money. Registration has opened for a program under which female dogs can be spayed almost free of charge. The owner only covers the cost of the pre-surgery qualifying tests, while the procedure itself is provided at no cost.

Free animal sterilization campaign in Wrocław

The program, called the “Sterilization Campaign,” is organized by the Wrocław-based biotechnology company Bioceltix and will be carried out in selected veterinary clinics in Wrocław and surrounding areas. Procedures are scheduled for March and April, and admission to the program depends on meeting specific criteria and the order of applications received.

Eligible dogs for the program are female dogs:

Aged 12 to 36 months,

Weighing at least 15 kg,

That have not been previously bred.

Dogs adopted from shelters can also participate, provided they have been in their new home for at least one month. The dog must be healthy and microchipped. If the dog does not have a chip, one will be provided free of charge.

What does the free package include?

As part of the campaign, the following are provided:

  • Standard ovariohysterectomy (removal of the uterus and ovaries) under anesthesia,
  • Post-operative care until the dog fully recovers from anesthesia,
  • Administration of painkillers and antibiotics,
  • Follow-up visit with suture removal if needed,
  • A package of post-surgery diagnostic tests,
  • Microchipping of the dog if it was not previously chipped.

The owner’s only cost is approximately 90 PLN for the pre-surgery qualifying tests. This represents savings of several hundred zlotys, as a standard spay for a medium-sized female dog in Wrocław typically costs between 550 and 1,050 PLN.

As the organizers emphasize, sterilization has significant health benefits for pets:

“It reduces the risk of reproductive system diseases and contributes significantly to a longer and healthier life for the animal. We have a limited number of spots, so it’s worth registering as soon as possible,” says Paweł Wielgus of Bioceltix.
